The Bears Have Ground Floor Access: Two Truths and a Lie

It is the second episode of season 11 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and the ladies are on their way to Lake Tahoe!

We start the episode with Garcelle Beauvais facetiming Sutton Stracke on her way to meet up with Kyle Richards. Meanwhile, Sutton is on her way to meet up with Erika Jayne at her store. Bearing gifts like the beautiful southern belle she is, Sutton sits down with Erika to talk about taking on the newest chapter in her life. Sutton announces she's building her own home, and feels bold and empowered to take on her life for the first time.

Garcelle and Kyle sit down. Kyle wants a fresh start with Garcelle, but Garcelle wants to confront Kyle about calling her out on not paying during the charity auction. Garcelle explains to Kyle the implications made and the negative stereotypes she has to fight against as a black woman that Kyle's comments only fueled the fire for.

We see Crystal at home doing housewife things: scheduling, hanging out with her young kids, bragging about how accomplished her husband is and running her house with my new favorite housewives side character, Lucy, the Minkoff's housekeeper.

The ladies meet at the airport on their way to Lake Tahoe. Lisa Rinna and Garcelle are the first to arrive and the tension is palpable. Kathy Hilton arrives demanding snacks. And Erika show up in an orange jumpsuit.

The women fly in a small plane. And we get a full spectrum of odd behavior. Garcelle, gravely afraid of small planes, is tense and Rinna is taking her shoes off for a one hour flight.

The women get to their Airbnb, The Sherman Estate, and find out that bears have access to the first floor if sliders are left unlocked. The women, however, seem more upset about having to carry their own luggage. Kathy needs sister Kyle to plug in the box fan that she brought with her to Lake Tahoe.

Kyle is making dinner and turning the estate's chef into her sous chef and Crystal into her bartender. We learn Kyle started to freak out during the flight that the altitude had caused her freshly modified nose to swell. Kyle serves the ladies burnt salmon. Sutton brings the ladies monogrammed flasks.

The ladies are sitting around after dinner and Erika jokes if she had a sister she would have ate her when they were little. The ladies play two truths and a lie. Crystal reveals she worked as a phone operator at an escort agency and was propositioned to become a madam. Sutton shocks the ladies with her history as a former Starbucks barista. Erika tells the ladies she was adopted, wore a wire in a federal case, and worked for the mafia. She reveals she was adopted but would not reveal which other line was the lie. So basically the lie was that she would play this game. Rinna claims she couldn’t lie, which was laughable. Kathy tells three truths. We never see Dorit or Kyle's truths and lies but it can only be assumed it only went too far downhill from there.

Garcelle clarifies with Rinna that their earlier sit down had not finished from last week. She calls out Rinna that by jumping on the accountability and not letting Garcelle talk about her feelings, specifically of betrayal felt by Rinna and the collapse of their friendship, they still had unfinished business.

Kyle talks to Sutton and Crystal about Garcelle, and continues to bring up the charity donation. Kyle, to me, seemed to be deflecting that she was not at fault for the ill feelings Garcelle had towards Kyle, relying on her own ignorance to negative stereotypes. Sutton (in my opinion) was trying to explain to Kyle that she treated Garcelle poorly well before the reunion but is interrupted by Crystal, the only other non-white cast member, who begins to discuss how hurtful stereotypes can be. Before cutting to the preview for next week, we see Crystal and Sutton start a heated argument about race.
