Episode 8 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills rolls right into Episode 9, as Sutton Stracke gets to the back door of Lisa Rinna’s house on her attempted walk out. Garcelle Beauvais, Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne and Rinna try to calm Sutton down after telling Crystal Minkoff she had ugly leather pants. Meanwhile, back at the orange sectional, Crystal giggles and suggests someone needs a drink. Garcelle sits with Crystal and tries to explain what’s going on. Erika tells Crystal she’s done nothing wrong in her fight with Sutton. The bartender makes hot toddy’s in an attempt to save the evening. Sutton apologizes for the leather pants dig and then has her first hot toddy, ever. Kyle initiates the conversation by explaining why #Coatgate is being brought up again. (It’s because none of you have a storyline, Kyle. We know the Beverly Hills formula.)
Sutton asks Crystal, "Why are you so mean?" Crystal says Sutton wants her to apologize for something that she did. Crystal goes on to call Sutton "an inappropriate awkward person". Sutton tells Crystal being called manic was out of line and it was hurtful. Crystal won’t apologize. Dorit Kemsley and Erika explain that Sutton’s father, who completed suicide, and who Sutton had opened up about to Crystal on the trip with, was manic. And this is why it is so hurtful. Crystal replies, “Okay, I take away that you are manic and I’m sorry that you feel bad that I said that and I won’t say it again." An upset Rinna interjects, "Don’t say it, if you don’t mean it". Garcelle and Rinna both refer to it as a non-apology. The women agree to leave things there. In her confessional, Sutton says she is lowering her expectations.
Flash forward four days later: Kyle, Dorit, and Kathy Hilton have come down with COVID. The rest of the ladies have to quarantine for 2 weeks. On December 2nd, Week 2 of the ladies' quarantine: The fraud and embezzlement case makes the news. On December 4th: Erika Jayne starts talking about the allegations with Rinna and Kyle. The producers asks Erika how she learned about the lawsuits and investigations and why she’s being named in them. She doesn’t give any answers. Erika shares that she feels overwhelmed by the millions of dollars worth of lawsuits being levied against her and she’s had no financial or legal help from ex Tom Girardi. Kyle offers to help talk her thru any anxiety she gets. Rinna and Kyle tell her they know she’s innocent and will stick by her.
Rinna and Crystal shows up at Erika's rental. Crystal brings with her lots of alcohol. The ladies drink champagne and talk about how much crying they’ve been doing lately. Erika shares that they’re only in mile 1 of a marathon and only Tom knows how deep "it" goes. Erika tells Crystal that as someone who is in an age gap relationship, and at the low end of the power balance, she needs to pay attention to the finances. Erika reveals she was named in a lawsuit two years earlier and Tom wouldn’t explain anything to her about it but instead told her not to worry.
Garcelle shows up to Kyle’s house baring gifts for a chat. Kyle awkwardly yells from her balcony as Garcelle makes her way around the house to the backyard. Garcelle calls herself Romeo to Kyle’s Juliet. Kyle shares that her husband Mauricio booked it once Kyle came down with COVID. She also shares that in a 1977 episode of Little House on the Prairie, her character had to quarantine with scarlet fever. Kyle invites all the ladies to La Quinta.
Rinna facetimes her daughter Delilah and Delilah's boyfriend Eyal Booker. Rinna shares her very good dresses that she’s stashing away to share with her daughters in the future.
At the Hilton residence, Kathy howls at her dog, Sue, while waiting for Kyle to come onto her balcony to have a chat. As we've known, Kyle wraps up her identity into her ability to be a good mom. Recently, she's become very depressed as she feels the pandemic has stripped her of that. She worries that her daughter, Portia, is too well adjusted, along with being mature for her age (due to being the youngest with much older sisters) and growing up too fast, instead of being a normal 13 year old. Kathy shares that she’s glad her and Kyle are back on good terms and that they can rely on each other once again.
Sutton hosts Rinna at her(/Kyle's old) house. Sutton, her daughter Porter, and Rinna sit down for a meal. Rinna and Porter are both Kappa Kappa Gammas. Sutton shares that she’s a strict mom and in contrast to Rinna, wouldn't allow her daughter to get lip filler.
Kyle meets Erika outside for a walk. Erika breaks down that she’s overwhelmed and her hands are tied amidst her legal woes. With black mascara tears running down her face, she tells Kyle that she has a story to tell but can’t tell it right now. Erika shares that Tom isn’t doing well and she hopes that someone is checking in on him because they haven’t spoken since she left him. Kyle starts asking about the headlines; i.e. Tom asking Erika to pay his bills even though he’s always been the provider for them. In her confessional, Erika accuses Tom of resenting her once she finally found success. The episode ends with Kyle reminiscing about how Erika used to say she was going to be with him until the end. And Erika adds that this is the end for Tom. (Chilling!)
Next week's tease: La Quinta, and Erika revealing more things she kept private about her marriage.
