RHO
The seventh episode of the thirteenth season of the Real Housewives of New York launches right back into Leah McSweeney storming out of the van after being left alone with Heather Thomson. Heather tells Leah she can't be scared away. And Luann de Lesseps suggests Leah retake her vow of silence.
Leah puts Ebon K. Williams on the spot to clear up what Heather said about her not voting. Eboni admitted to misspeaking for Heather. Leah apologizes for her behavior and Heather tells her she has "a lot of compassion for her" which I think translates to "it would be wrong for me to hold you to the standards that I would expect from rational people".
They arrive at Lu's 70's Pageant party. Everyone is in some type of sparkly number or gown, except for Sonja Morgan who looks like she’s wearing a pajama set. Ramona Singer says she wants to put her best breast forward. The talent segment begins with Lu performing her baton twirls and she begins to mouth words indiscernible. Sonja changes just off stage mid-show. Ramona works out with dual 5-lbs weights and has Sonja spin around ala magician's assistant to fix Ramona's gown for her 40 push ups. Leah drops her hula hoop almost immediately during her act. Heather’s cheerleading routine is “aggressive”. Eboni speaks a beautiful spoken word that probably fell on deaf ears. Sonja begins to mime and play a game of charades with Ramona. The results come in with Eboni in 3rd, Lu in 2nd and Leah wins 1st. In her confessional, Leah proudly boasts that it wasn't a charity win.
Record scratch noise transition to Lu admitting it was rigged for Leah to win. As Leah is crowned, she tosses her tiara aside for Lu to chase it down like a punted football. Leah's acceptance speech is an apology to the ladies for her behavior this weekend.
It's the morning after at Ramona's Hampton home. The ladies are packing to go home and Sonja spills coffee in Ramona's bedroom. Lu brings pastries for breakfast. Leah texts the group that she did not get the chance to see her grandmother who passed away early in the morning. Ramona uses talk to text to write a condolence and Lu tries to edit it before Ramona sends it out. Eboni’s reveals a woman reached out to her claiming to be her sister. Heather apologizes for telling Eboni she was articulate when she meant and should have used the word eloquent. Lu chimes in that Ramona can’t speak the King's English.
Back in NY: Eboni is recording her podcast; Lu's assistant is brushing her faux fur rug and suggesting people might be doing something lude on it to cause knots; Sonja saves envelopes to reuse by crossing out what's on top and sending it back through the mail; Ramon sits down for a business meeting to sell herself to a real estate broker so he will take her on as a sponsor for when she gets her license. They discuss how careful you need to be when showing homes now to not use outdated terminology and in the middle of this discussion, Ramona uses "invalids" to talk about people who aren't able-bodied.
Eboni, Leah and Sonja meet Martin, Leah's boxing trainer, for a workout. Sonja gives Martin a bigger hello than I’ve seen her give anyone ever. Eboni calls Sonja the star. She is. Sonja gets pumped up to deliver multiple headshots to Martin channeling her anger about Lu's comments from the van ride in the Hamptons.
On Election Day, we see Ramona, Lu, and Eboni vote. At Eboni’s apartment for Eboni's Election Party, Lu arrives in a JFK mask. She’s brought multiple political themed masks. In other odd fashion, Leah has on a black tulle tutu train, with jeans on. Leah's sister Sarah arrives at the party. We cut to a flashback of the ladies fighting with her in Newport. We learn Ramona is staying in Long Island to avoid potential rioting and looting in the City. Leah's dog Angel is walking on tables and going after people for chips and guacamole. The ladies talk about Eboni’s Harlem party the next night. Sonja’s arrive to flash her red underwear at the women both friends and strangers. Carrie, Eboni’s dog, gets on the table to steal food, too. These pups are out of control. The women discuss what they’re wearing to Eboni’s Harlem party the next night. Sonja says a LBD with a headband. I sense a lot of headband work from Sonja this season. Sarah says Leah mistakenly told her to dress like "Satan glitter" instead of "sequence". The mistake is that Leah has been dressing in the theme of "Satan glitter" this entire season so far. Sarah begins to talk badly about Ramona. Sonja tells the woman she feels Ramona is posting pictures on Instagram with an agenda: to show she’s not racist. Sonja begins to launch into a drunken rant about performative allyship. In her confessional, Eboni shares Sonja can have 1.5 glasses of wine before she goes off he deep end. Sonja takes the lobster rolls home with her. Next week, we're teased with Eboni's Harlem party and a heated sit down with Eboni and Ramona.
