I Don't Leave Toys to be Unplayed: Baby It's Cold Inside

The ladies are back with the 12th episode of the Real Housewives of New York! We open to Luann de Lesseps plating macarons out of a box in preparation for Ramona Singer's arrival. We find out that Lu is throwing a joint birthday party for Ramona and Sonja Morgan. They continue to talk about Sonja’s drinking. They both comment that despite being friends with Sonja for years they had no idea about her dad.

Sonja and Eboni K. Williams are with Martin for some boxing therapy. Sonja tells Eboni that Ramona and Lu thought Sonja was mean and aggressive in Salem. Paired with the scene of Lu and Ramona talking about how they never knew anything about Sonja’s dad, Eboni asks Sonja about her dad and Sonja openly talks about him Eboni shares that she’s going to pursue getting to know who her father is by doing a DNA test with Ashley, a women who claims to be her half sister.

Luann meets Amanda, the manager of the venue Lu is planning Ramonja's birthday at. The first thing she says to Amanda is that venue is much better in person, (and I love the idea of Lu planning their birthday at a venue she thought was ugly). Leah McSweeney meets Lu at the venue and offers to be in charge of the cake. The two sit down and Leah asks Lu the legal questions regarding their vocals on her latest song. Instead of answering them, Lu tells Leah that Lisa Rinna was on her last single. Garth and Lu had been photographed together and an article had been written about them, ultimately breaking them up.

Brian, the technician, and the infamous Billy Stritch are setting up at Lu's apartment for the ladies to come over and record the Christmas song. Ramona opens up her session by hitting on both Billy and Brian. Billy called Ramona good-natured (and for some reason I can't get over that). Sonja is at Lu's new apartment for the first time and greets Billy with open arms. Sonja comments that she likes "diamonds and panties, too" and Billy corrects her that it's "parties". Sonja, whose singing is not too bad, can't get the words right. During her session, Eboni dances through her vocals. Leah comes in with questions from her attorney about the song. Lu tells her, "Everything I'm making is going to Fortune, and you don't need to know the details of Fortune." Lu tells her that there are other women who would want to be on the song. Billy tells her to think of it as a donation since the proceeds of the song go to the Fortune society.

At Ramonja's party, Bershan Shaw is the first to arrive. In her talking head, Bershan says she is going to tone it down this time around with the ladies. Sonja tells Hank, the party planner, that she's not drinking tonight to avoid the criticism from the other women. In her talking head, Sonja brings up how thankful she is that Lu is throwing the party instead of Ramona planning her own party with her 75 friends. It seems like the women were afraid Ramona would celebrate her birthday with a COVID super spreader event. Sonja and Bershan meet at the party and both are friendly towards one another. Leah and Eboni arrive at the party; in her talking head, Leah says she is extending grace to Bershan because she knows what it's like to start off with the women on the wrong foot. Kurt, the nude model from the Hamptons, shows up at the party. Bershan, who didn't join the women until later, has Leah and Eboni describe his penis to her. Dylan, who is titled as a "Clothed Model", joins the party. As it turns out, Ramona and Dylan are already acquainted but she won't get into specifics with Sonja as to how. She leaves it at a vague "through people". Hank invited William, a man who Leah insulted at a previous party. Sonja says that William is there for Ramona. The male "burlesque" dancers arrive. Leah gives one of them a lap dance. Eboni invites the ladies (excluding Bershan) to a Black Shabbat. This confuses Ramona who is both not Jewish and not black. Leah begins to ask Ramona about the money from the song. She asks for how long the proceeds will go to the Fortune Society, and what happens if in two, three, years Lu makes money off it, and Ramona cuts her off to say it doesn't matter. Lu joins the conversation and Leah explain she felt like they should've signed a release before they recorded their vocals. Ramona tells Lu that she agrees but that it didn't matter because she ultimately trusts Lu. Lu confronts Leah for being a scrooge over the legalities of the Christmas song at the session, instead of asking for paperwork beforehand. Ramona backs up Lu in the fight, and tells Leah she feels that if Lu ends up making millions off the song, then "good for her and I don't need a piece of it". Leah responds with "Well, I do." and the two start to bicker. Leah brings up Lu not paying Sonja for her part in her cabaret show last year, and Lu tells Leah to watch where she steps. The fight escalates with Lu telling Leah to lawyer up. In her confessional, Leah tries to say that she's not being greedy and wants to know how long the proceeds of the song will be donated to charity for. This contrasts a bit with what she says in person which is that if the song is making millions she hopes Lu would give them all a piece of it. Ramona offers to promote Leah's clothing brand in return, which she cannot even name properly, and Leah tells her, no thanks, "you're not my demographic" and that Rihanna is already wearing her brand. Leah gets Sonja and Ramona cakes that look like genitals. Leah tries to mend things with Lu, who in her talking head says that lack of trust that Leah has with her is the most upsetting thing. Ramona texts William her address and the party ends with Sonja going out for drinks with Dylan.
