The fifth episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City begins with Lisa Barlow giving a recap of the fight she had over Whitney Rose meddling in her friendship with Angie Harrington to her husband. Mary Cosby surprises Whitney by bringing over personally baked goods. Whitney fills Mary in to her side of the fight. In her confessional, Mary alludes that the drama between the two is fabricated by Whitney as a way to get her into Lisa's circle.
Heather Gay and her daughter Ashley are checking her application status to UC Santa Barbara. She got in.
Murilo, The Second Assistant, walks Jen Shah into her sit down with Brooks Marks. Brooks and Meredith Marks arrive and Brooks asks his mom to leave him alone with Jen to speak privately. Jen apologizes for the tweets and the liking of the tweets that have called Brooks names and alluded to Brooks' sexuality. Brooks explains that from his perspective Jen is able to make the narrative around him and his sexuality before Brooks would even have a chance to use his own voice. Jen apologizes and it feels like (hopefully) the beef is squashed.
The Salt Lake City husbands are meeting for a drink. Justin Rose admits to using their stripper pole and then shares their sex life conversation with the rest of the men. Seth Marks says he can have sex with Meredith as long as he doesn't wake her up. Coach Shah tries to rally the men to push their wives to mend the rift that (for the most part) Jen Shah caused.
Jennie Nguyen meets Whitney for lunch. Whitney has bought her business partner out in her skincare brand. The women discuss how they're the mirrored opposites of each other. Jennie started off a business women who transitioned to being a stay at home mom and doesn't want to have more kids but her husband does. Whitney has moved from her traditional housewife roll to start a business and would love to have more kids but her husband doesn't. Jennie explains that she thinks Whitney and Lisa started off on the wrong foot and Whitney seems to accept that both women have never really listened to or wanted to listen to what the other woman has to say.
Meredith and Heather meet on the mountain. After skiing, the women enjoy Irish coffee and a charcuterie plate. Heather shares that she hasn't had the sex talk with her children and asks Meredith for advice on what words to use. Meredith says she was open with her children about safe sex and Heather asks incredulously, if Meredith gave them a Capri Sun and some condoms and Meredith replies, "I was never a big proponent of juice."
Lisa arranges for a gin tasting because "you can't have new beginning without g-i-n" in hopes to reset her relationship with Whitney. Lisa explains that she feels like a friend of 25 years (Angie) shouldn't seek out someone who is having a problem with her. Whitney tells Lisa that being referred to as "this one" is rude and that despite their issues a part of her wants to be her friend. The episode ends with the women agreeing to give each other the benefit of the doubt and move on.
