The most anticipated episode of the season is here! And full disclosure, for the Jen Shah Shah-rrest you'll have to wait until the last ten minutes to see her escape production and the cast. Truly, the first 40 minutes are still some of the best of the entire series without the Shah drama.
Mary Cosby gets dressed to put on a fake Italian accent and invite the women to an Italian Cooking Class. She advises the dress code is "Italian street wear" and fears the women need help putting looks together. Whitney Rose ignores Mary’s calls and instead gets a separate invitation sent to her.
Meredith Marks invites Jennie Nguyen to get a mani-pedi. She extends the invite to Vail. Now, everyone but Angie Harrington is invited on the cast trip.
Heather Gay is celebrating her niece’s birthday. Caroline (her niece) and her husband have decided to leave the Mormon church. Heather explains the degrees of the Mormon church’s heaven: the Celestial for the top practitioners; the Terrestrials for those who aren’t perfectly conformed like Lisa Barlow; the Telestial for the serial killers; and Outer Darkness for those who made all their covenants and chose to walk away.
Jen Shah goes snowshoeing with her first assistant Stuart. She reflects on sacrificing time for her family in order to grow her business and provide jobs for people, like Stuart. In her talking head, she totes Stuart’s loyalty and they promise to have each other’s backs. (Allegedly, Stuart has turned against Jen in their federal fraud legal debacle.)
Mary goes over the fine details for her cooking class. She has given each women a napkin with their “Italian” name on it. Jen arrived on the back of a Vespa wrapped in an Italian flag. Meredith arrives in all black leather and seemingly gets Mary’s approval. Mary tells Jen and Meredith that since Whitney did not pick up any of her 4 phone calls, Mary has decided to punish her by sending an invitation instructing her to dress in mafia cosplay wear. Heather and Whitney compare their invitations but Whitney did not follow her instructions--which Mary confronted Whitney about when she walked in. Mary gives the women aprons she had embroidered with their Italian names on them. She delivers them in Louis Vuitton shopping bags, tricking them into thinking they’re designer. In her confessional, Mary says she’s not going to buy the women Louis Vuitton aprons when they don’t even cook.
The women sit down to eat and Heather blesses the food. Mary and Whitney fight about Whitney not calling Mary back because she was driving her kids. Jen asks Lisa about the Fresh Wolf event. When Whitney apologizes for missing the event, Mary chimes in that she’s never invited. As the women pile on Lisa, she explains that her kids made the invite list because the event was for their company. Jen pivots to her beef with Whitney sending products to someone she is feuding with. Whitney explains herself and then spins the issue onto Lisa suggesting Lisa is planting seeds with Jen to later have a problem with Whitney. Lisa explains that she invited Whitney to extend the olive branch in their rocky friendship.
Mary and Whitney begin to fight as Mary asks Jen a question and Whitney talks over Jen's answer to her. Whitney rambles on while Mary begs her to stop talking so that she can hear Jen answer. Mary tells Whitney to leave. In her confessional, Mary compares Whitney to a bobble head. Meredith takes Whitney inside and Whitney confides in her that she did call Mary back, two hours later, and then Mary sent her mean texts. (In summary, Mary told Whitney she is a fake, plastic, person; who needed plastic surgery to look good.) Whitney touches on people coming to her to expose things about Mary and the church. Meredith then shares what Cameron said to her at the Fresh Wolf event. Whitney tells Meredith that when she first befriended Mary, Mary’s own cousins told her to never upset her. Whitney tells Meredith that Mary’s family is afraid of her because they and the church believe Mary holds the power of God. Whitney returns to the table and Mary says she doesn’t think Whitney and her are friends. Whitney tells Mary "the gloves are off".
Meredith calls Heather and "entrusts" her with getting the women from Salt Lake City to Vail. Meredith is already there. Mary will be flying private to Vail because she has a headache. (That headache is named Whitney.) Whitney shows up with a shotski. Jen gets a phone call and quickly ask Whitney to turn her mic pack off. Lisa joins Jennie and Whitney on the bus. Jen tells Heather that Coach Shah has internal bleeding and is in the hospital. She tells the rest of the women on the van that Coach Shah had an appointment and they discovered internal bleeding. Jen’s Aunt’s car picks her up. The women contemplate waiting for her. The producer asks if they are really going to wait and they ultimately decide that she can easily catch a flight and beat them there. Suddenly, uniformed law enforcement officers enter the parking lot. Jennie overhears them asking about Jen. Heather gets out of the van to find out what’s going on. Whitney asks if Jen is playing a prank on them. Lisa says something is weird. And Whitney tells Lisa and Jennie about Jen asking her to shut off the mic. While watching Homeland Security Inspectors and NYPD ask production questions, Lisa announces, “It’s not about Sharrieff”.
